2019 Zinfandel - Papera Ranch

Mit einem Schuss von 4% Carignan (der ist das Gewürz in der Suppe) wurde dieser Weingarten 1934 von Celestino aka Charley Papera angelegt. Weniger als 20% neues Holz, komplett entrappt, spontan vergoren, ungeschönt, unfiltriert auf die Flasche gezogen. Ein üppiger Kräuterstrauß aus Lavendel, Salbei und Rosmarin in der Nase, die vor lauter Freude immer wieder ins Glas zurück will. Ätherisch duftend wie die Äquivalente aus Südfrankfreich (Garrigue) oder Fynbos (Südafrika). Eine fast rotfruchtige noch etwas reservierte Nase, die ein wenig brauchen wird, um auf das Reifeplateau zu kommen. Da geht die Post im Glas ab: Lakritz, Graphit, Earl Grey Tee und Beerengrütze. Am Gaumen fest, aber superfeine Gerbstoffe, viel Stoff und ein großes Kaliber an Wein.
